Since 2009, the DBU has been awarding fellowships for further qualification in the field of environment and nature conservation in Germany to young master’s degree and PhD students from Kosovo.

Important dates

Application deadline: 05.03.2025
Selection interviews: April 2025
Start of the Fellowship: 17.08.2025
Start of the German intensive course: 19.08.2025
Start of further education: 15.09.2025

In recent years, graduates from universities in Kosovo have applied for fellowships. A total of 29 fellowships have been awarded so far. The DBU CEE Fellowship Program is open to all disciplines (natural sciences/engineering/social sciences and humanities).

The contact persons in Kosovo are Lulzim Baumann and former DBU Fellow Labinot Kryeziu. They will be happy to provide general information about the CEE Fellowship Programme, assist with the online application, and answer questions about the process and organization of the Fellowship in Germany.
