Soil water dynamics in context of soil properties and climate change impact

Project WAIKLIM is a project on forest development at TU Dresden, jointly managed by the Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMU) and the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). The WAIKLIM joint project on silviculture in the midst of climate change aims to provide insights into how, with the help of forest management, young plants can be given the best possible chance of survival and growth despite changing climatic conditions. The objectives of the project are a) to provide insights into how, with the help of forest management, young plants can be given the best possible chance of survival and growth despite changing climatic conditions; b) spatial optimisation of forest management; c) to study the impact of canopy clearing and d) modelling of the storm damage risks.
