Produktion und Konsum in den ÜbergangsländernFocus on dematerialization strategies and delinking economy growth from resource consumption is on the top of international and national policy. Of special interest are the development of transition countries, which usually prefer economic growth vs. environment. Material and energy efficiency in transition countries is still far from the industrialized countries. Despite significant progress in resources intensity reduction, usually only relative decoupling of material consumption from economic performance is taking place and overall consumption is growing along with economy. In this research changes in MFA indicators are analyzed and possible drivers for DMI, DMC and energy consumption are identified for Lithuania, as a country of transition economy.
